FETCH DOG PARK VOLUNTEER ADVISORY GROUP

This group of volunteers formed for the purpose of developing an off-leash play area for dogs and their owners in partnership with the City of Danville, Illinois.  A Memorandum of agreement was entered into by and between the City of Danville and the Advisory group in May 2009.  All REGULAR (see definition below)  members are automatically members of the FETCH DOG PARK ADVISORY GROUP

Following the development and construction phases the Advisory Group will remain active, cooperating with the City in all phases for the management of a successful park.  The Advisory Group will have a Leadership Team of interested and participating members that will serve as an executive committee and deal with maintenance, fund raising and rule violation issues. They will set meeting dates and organize the agenda.  Replacement of members on the LEADERSHIP TEAM for resignation or lack of interest will be by application and positive references.  There will be at least 2 meetings for the entire FETCH DOG PARK VOLUNTEER ADVISORY GROUP

FETCH DOG PARK GROUP MEMBERSHIP

There will be two types of memberships.

1.     Regular a Dog owner who plans to use FETCH Park must  purchase a FETCH Dog Park tag at the following location:

A.               Humane Society of Danville  located at 1225 N. Collett St (corner of Collett and Voorhees streets) Danville

A FETCH Dog Park tag must be purchased for each dog the owner intends to take to Fetch Park.  This tag will be color coded and numbered specifically for FETCH Dog Park for each year and will cost $10.00 for a the first dog, $5.00 for the second dog and $3.00 for the third dog or more dogs  plus local city fees if applicable.    Dog owners are limited to bringing not more than three (3) dogs per handler to the park at any one time to insure the control and safety of all concerned.  All dogs must have a current rabies vaccination certificate or present a current rabies tag on the dog.     It is also recommended that the dog have the Bordetella  (kennel cough) injection.

2.      Honorary:  Interested members of the community who wish to donate funds to support Fetch Dog Park may do so by mailing contributions to the City of Danville/Dog Park and claim a charitable donation.

Honorary member may attend meetings of the FETCH DOG PARK ADVISORY GROUP and may vote at the meetings, but an honorary member cannot hold an office position in the advisory group.      

Guests may use the park but must follow the rules and regulations.  Provisions for these guests to make donations will be present.

1.     Examples would be visitors staying at local motels or parks.

2.     Out of town guests of current members.

PUBLIC  NOTICE

PLEASE BE ADVISED the FETCH PARK ASSOCIATION Board of Directors, at its annual meeting on June 1, 2010, elected to empower anyone authorized to sell Fetch Park Dog Tags the sole and exclusive right to deny the sale of a dog tag to anyone who does not have the required current certifications from a licensed veterinarian, has a record of dog abuse, neglect or misuse of a dog and/or is found to not be a responsible and courteous dog owner.

BE FURTHER ADVISED any person who is denied a license or does not obey the Fetch Park Rules and Regulations may subsequently be denied the further use of  Fetch Park by the Association until such time as the matter is taken up on  a" DENIAL of ACCESS” appeal with the Association Appeal Board.

RIGHT OF APPEAL is hereby granted upon filing a written “Notice of Appeal” with Steve Lane, Superintendent Danville Special Services, City of  Danville, 17 W. Main, Danville, Il 61832.  Said notice of appeal must contain the name of the owner of record of the dog, address and telephone number of where to be reached. Also, the appeal must give as much information as to why they believe the “Denial of Access”  was unjustified or what they are willing to do to comply with the Park’s Rules and Regulations. Upon receipt of the notice of appeal the person requesting same will be notified of the date, time and place a appeal hearing will be scheduled before the Fetch Park Association Appeal Board. The decision of the “Appeal Board” will be final and binding as a condition of use of Fetch Park.
